We can see a step by step portrait drawing, or you can say 'portrait building'. Every new drawing is like a new project or like building a house. We start by building the bases, then we add the blocks one by one. You cannot build a house suddenly, and you cannot build a house in the air without a base or blocks.

Here, the base of the project is the light lines on which we build the details. If you start with the details directly, be sure that your project will not complete, or it will be a weak project with too many mistakes.
